ONGOING MEETINGS & EVENTS

Meetings:

Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA) Chapters are local or area-wide organizations offering regularly-scheduled meetings and programs. The Chapters offer emotional support, camaraderie, tips and techniques for living with hearing loss, and technical information about hearing assistance devices. They are self-help organizations dedicated to education, advocacy and support for people who do not hear well. The meetings are free and open to the public.   • HLAA Kentuckiana Chapter (HLAAKC) - Meetings are in Louisville, Kentucky at 6:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of most months at St. Leonard Parish School Library, 440 Zorn Avenue.   • HLAA Kentucky Home Chapter (HLAAKHC) – Meetings are in Bardstown, Kentucky at 6:30 p.m. on the fourth Monday of most months at the Nelson County Public Library, 201 Cathedral Manor. KY Black Deaf Advocates (KyBDA) - every 2nd Saturday noon - 3 p.m. at the New Zion Baptist Church - 1501 South 34th St., Louisville, KY

Louisville Deaf Senior Citizens - meets in January, April, July and October at the Derby City Community Center, 1401 Cadillac Court, Louisville, KY

1st Thursday is Potluck at 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

3rd Thursday is Social/Games at 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.


ASL Socials:

Last Friday of the month - Outside In - 4601 Hamburg Pike Jeffersonville, Indiana (Map It!) Miniature golf with indoor dining for deaf social (not required to play golf).

1st Friday of the month - Deaf Coffee Chat - Starbucks - Louisville, KY at 6:30-10:30 p.m.

The second Friday of the following months: January, April, July and October: ASL Social/Silent Dinner in the Jefferson Mall's Food Court - Louisville, KY

The second Friday of the following months: February, March, May, June, August, September, November and December: ASL Social/Silent Dinner in the Mall St. Matthew's Food Court - Louisville, KY

1st & 3rd Fridays of the month - Fayette Mall Food Court - Lexington, KY at 6 p.m.

2nd & 4th Wednesdays of the month - Applebee's - Danville, KY at 10 p.m.
